It all begins with an idea.
Hi, I’m Shasta —a photographer with a deep love for storytelling, collaboration, and capturing honest, timeless images.
My journey with photography started back in the '90s, when I took my first class at Roosevelt High School in Portland, Oregon. The moment I stepped into the darkroom, I was hooked. There was something magical about watching images come to life—and I’ve been chasing that magic ever since.
Today, I work with both film and digital photography, and I’m drawn to the textures of real life: old buildings, beautiful light, unposed moments, and people being fully themselves. I love working with individuals, families, artists, small business owners, and anyone who wants photos that feel like them.
Beyond the lens, I’m a mom, a former public school teacher, and I run the darkroom at my local community college. I’ve been published in magazines, newspapers, and calendars—including 1859 Magazine, Bend Fashion Quarterly, The Oregonian, and Sunset Magazine—and I’ve partnered with a wide range of clients, from local nonprofits to companies like Airbnb and Vacasa.
More than anything, I love collaborating—dreaming up ideas together and making them real. Whether we’re shooting in a wild landscape, an empty downtown alley, or your cozy living room, I’ll help you feel comfortable, seen, and inspired.
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d love to connect.
